It’s a shame Wings-N-Things on Hurstbourne Parkway never made it. It was as nice a strip center spot as you could find for a place to get a beer, wings and a burger for a decent price. But, alas, the restaurant business is a hands-on biz, and investor owners (it was owned by a UPS pilot seeking a revenue stream outside the jet stream) often learn this lesson the hard way: you’ve got to want to be there to make it work.

So, word on the street is the space will eventually be filled by Turkey Joe’s.

I’m shameless about my love for my hometown and home state, but … Turkey Joe’s? Just sounds so … country, so cornpone and tater cakes. I’m fully expecting to see something as unappetizing as burgoo (sorry, homefolks, but it never won me over) on the menu.

Admittedly, I have no clue as to what Turkey Joe’s will serve, but I can’t say I’m eager to hurry up and find out. But I’ll keep watch and let you know.
