Fourth of July weekend will give Louisvillians more than just their independence to celebrate – a new jazz club will open its doors to the public on Friday, July 3, in the old Jazz Factory space under Glassworks.
Scylar LaDeq, Investment Analyst for The Investment Circle, Inc., will reopen the club under a new name, Jazzyblu. Jazzyblu will feature live music from local and regional jazz bands on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. LaDeq also hopes to feature regional bands periodically.
“The venue will have the same ambiance and feel as the Jazz Factory, just with a different name,” LaDeq says. Jazzyblu will have a full bar and restaurant with a menu featuring items such as salmon croquette, beef brisket, and gumbo. LaDeq is also looking into having a Sunday jazz brunch and jazz happy hour.
The Jazzyblu venue was reopened for a few shows in April in order to gauge interest in a live entertainment division of Glassworks. LaDeq plans to have special events such as rooftop concerts with Glassworks and City Properties Group. The venue is currently closed in preparation for its grand opening.

Ooh, great that a jazz venue is coming back, but . . . too bad about that name . . .

JazzyBlu is just what the adult crowd was waiting for & need here in the “Ville”. The 40+ crowd is being pushed out. . We are happy to see you here. I have had the opportunity to have the lunch buffet and an evening of jazz. The happy hour has great drinks and I love prices. Its a must do on the club circuit. Especially on Sunday evening. A laid back crowd.
