If so, then good news, friends: after 18 years in business, the deli will be open on Mondays (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) beginning March 1.

During my brief tenure waiting tables Ditto’s in the early ‘90s, I saw hundreds of people walk through that restaurant just to get to the deli, only to be frustrated it wasn’t open on Monday (it’s never open on Sundays, either). Reacting like heroin addicts discovering the methadone clinic was closed for the day, many stomped off in a huff. Looks like their angst will diminish next month.

According to Stevens & Stevens’ e-newsletter, the crew is working on a spring and summer menu and promises lots of new items.
